How to deal with the fear of the wedding

[ad_1]

Ask any bride – wedding planning is stressful. Fear of the wedding is one thing. Whether you’re panicking about the dress or over budget, planning for the biggest day of your life can get a little too much. But just because wedding planning is inevitably stressful doesn’t mean you need to keep a stiff upper lip. Here are some of our top tips to help combat the stress and anxiety that comes with planning your special day.

Talk to your bridesmaids

If you have problems with planning, your bridesmaids are always there to help. Whether it’s fear or something as simple as choosing drinks for the big day, your tribe knows you best and can offer advice and assistance.

Tucking in thoughts and feelings is never helpful and will make you feel worse and worse in the long run. Make sure to share your thoughts and be honest about how you are feeling with your bridesmaid. After all, the bridesmaids’ duties go beyond ensuring that the bride has eaten on her wedding day.

Take a break

We are all guilty of working too hard. And wedmin is no exception. No matter what you do or how hard you work, taking regular breaks will make you more productive in the long run.

With a clear head, planning suddenly becomes much smoother and you can see decisions from a new perspective. Whether you’re spending a Netflix day with a cup of tea on the sofa or taking a weekend road trip, do what makes you happy, fresh and refreshed. One thing to keep in mind – don’t feel guilty about it.

Organize

If you want your wedding planning to go as smoothly as possible, organization should be high on your list of priorities. How could you keep track of everything related to your wedding if you haven’t written a plan?

We recommend investing in planning blocks (see some great examples here) and conjure up a long-term plan and deadlines for things you want to get done and by when. It doesn’t matter whether it is choosing your dress or choosing the date for your wedding, having it all on paper can only be positive for your mental health.

Delegate

We get it – your wedding day couldn’t be more important. It’s the day you’ve dreamed of and every little detail counts. However, it is important to understand that you cannot do everything on your own.

When you delegate parts of your planning to trusted family and friends, you will take a huge load off your shoulders and focus on the things that really matter. Whatever you choose to delegate, your life will be a lot easier.

Be curious!

While some of the stresses and strains associated with wedding planning are inevitable, don’t forget to enjoy yourself as much as possible! This opportunity is (hopefully) a once in a lifetime experience and just isn’t the right way to be super stressed out.

Along with breaks and delegating, you will spend time doing the things you really love. There is an endless variety of flavors and styles, so don’t be afraid to go a little more abstract if it suits your personal style. Remember – stay positive and excited as best you can!
