Spring blossoms in North Vancouver

[ad_1]

The history: How do you bring spring inside? This ceremony was designed like a scene from a spring garden, with a lush floral arch and whimsical asymmetrical flowers sprouting down the aisle. A modern cocktail reception followed. A wallet-friendly bar invites guests to mingle with cocktail specialties and delicious snacks.

The site: This shoot took place in Vancouver Loading pipes at the shipyards. Originally built in the 1940s, the Pipe Shop is a reminder of the thousands of men and women who have worked in the area’s shipyard over the years. This spectacularly restored, Grade II listed building is a beautiful industrial-chic event space perfect for modern couples looking for a wedding venue.

The atmosphere: A lively spring festival. Modern, bright and fresh, the perfect inspiration for fun and nature-loving couples looking for a fresh way to celebrate their love in style.

The details: Pink was the main color for this shoot, but the concept was to use it right away by mixing light pink hues in the wedding dress and cake with vibrant pinks in the floral design. This added texture and dimension. The color palette for the floral design consisted of citrus tones, mostly focusing on flowers that bloom in spring such as tulips, daffodils, ranunculus, poppies, fritillaries, violas, and seasonal foliage. The flower arch and the cake were both highlights. Delicate layered violas were used to create a minimalist three-dimensional design for the cake. The clear ghost chairs ensured that the floral elements were the focus. Inflated fabric menus for food and drink were used as a floating and draped element at the reception.

Tips & highlights:

  • Don’t be afraid to do something different with paint. While pink is an obviously beautiful choice, you don’t have to stick to more traditional blush hues.
  • Talk to your salespeople about how to put your wedding details together for a cohesive look. We used pink as our feature color and although it was used with different shades, it brought the theme together while being dynamic and fun!
  • Different heights were used to give the standing reception a contemporary look. The food and drink menus floated over the bar and the team integrated flowers, food and drink glasses of different sizes.
