The history: This is a purple wedding story inspired by love and music. A live pianist played Chopin’s “Nocturne in E flat major” as a staging of handwritten notes reminiscent of love letters. The colors have been kept soft, centered around a pale purple color palette. The romantic use of fabric draperies and silk chiffon created fluidity in contrast to sharp acrylic to create the feeling of floating in love.

The site: Hale Park, a Country house and country park in Hampshire, UK. This magnificent building was designed and built as a single family home for its architect Thomas Archer in 1715. This beautiful country house has over 500 square meters of stunning gardens and an on-site chapel, making it an ideal location for weddings.

The atmosphere: Classic, elegant and romantic. At this celebration, everything revolved around the trend color lilac. This has been enhanced by a complementary classic color palette of ivory and white with a touch of gray and old pink. Louis chairs were used to make a romantic statement. The cake design aimed to capture the flowability and softness of draped fabric.

The details: Meadow style flowers were used for the ceremony, the fireplace, and the stairs. Two beautiful pedestals framed the fireplace. The table landscape has been outfitted with a low meadow-style display that runs the length of the table on a pale purple chiffon runner to add extra color and elegance. Glass candle holders with white tapered candles created a romantic atmosphere, which was accentuated by crystal glasses, layered colored plates and textured gray napkins to underline that gray. Chocolates from Charbonnel and Walker were used to add British luxury to table settings and were also used as wedding favors.

Highlights:

• Color balancing can be difficult. Try adding color to your event through table runners or by using a specific color (or lilac in this case) through stationery.
• If you don’t want to incorporate metallic elements into your look, you can balance out your color palette by using acrylic or glass items.
• If you want to anchor your look with an unusual color that may be hard to find, send a color swatch to all of your suppliers so you can guarantee a consistent theme for all elements of your wedding look. For this shoot, the overskirt and ribbons were dyed to match the pale purple chiffon fabric that was used for the table.
