The history: Alexandra and Ethan met during an evening with friends and are immediately connected through their mutual love for training and hiking. The site: A quirky place to stay in Joshua Tree National Park – a cool modern mid-century Airbnb surrounded by desert. The property’s metallic mountain-shaped sculpture was a reminder of all of the hikes the couple had taken together and served as the perfect altar for the ceremony. The property had a game room and hot tub that Alex and Ethan enjoyed with their guests.

The vibes: Dessert boho with a cool mid-century feel. This low-key wedding was all about sharing special moments with lifelong friends. Her greatest luxury right now was on the property and her photographer for the memories.

The details: Inspired by a natural desert color palette of cream, blush and rust, Pinyon pine flower pattern a mixture of desert grasses, leaves and other dried elements worked into the wedding flowers with a base of eucalyptus green. Luna, the couple’s beloved rescue dog, who watched Alex and Ethan tie the knot, had a matching flower collar. Alex’s Made with love bride‘s “Harlie” dress had a slim fit with a flared style. This was fitted with a long ceremony veil, which Alex exchanged for one Gigi Pip Hat adorned with a corolla of flowers to match her bouquet. Ethan kept his suit simple and elegant, opting for a classic black and orange tie.

• Escape your way and splurge where it matters! At the end of the day, all you have left is marriage and memories, so make sure your big day is exactly what you want it to be. Eloping means you can spend more on details like your dress, your flowers, and your photographer.
• Alex and Ethan wanted to incorporate part of their cultural heritage into their escape. The Greek wedding tradition of exchanging stefana (crowns), in which crowns are attached to a continuous ribbon, signifying the union of the new couple, was carried out by a family member.
• An elopement is an intimate affair. If you are considering hosting a smaller wedding, consider what additional roles your guest can play. Ethan’s childhood best friend presided over the ceremony, and Alex’s best friend put on makeup and served as a witness.
