The history: Pascal and Miriam got engaged in December 2019. It has always been her dream to get married in Greece. Miriam is half Greek and Pascal is German. They have traveled to Greece every year since they met and wanted to share their love for Greek traditions, delicious food, beautiful beaches and warm local hospitality with their friends and family from Germany (where they live).

The site: Mango beach bar in Preveza. Located on Kanali beach, it is one of the largest beach bars in Iperio with modern facilities and a dream setting. This beach bar has been transformed into the perfect wedding venue through the use of festive fairy lights, beautiful flowers and stunning boho table settings.

The atmosphere: A boho beach treat. Laughing, dancing and a celebration of love under the stars and with the sound of the sea!

The details: The most anticipated detail of this wedding was whether Pascal and Miriam will be able to dance with their guests due to COVID restrictions. The couple were thrilled that restrictions were being eased ahead of their celebration and they arranged for a DJ, This is Alex Awesome come from Germany to dance the night away. This included some traditional Greek dances. It was important to Pascal and Miriam to celebrate everything Greek, so they focused their catering on Greek delicacies and served their guests traditional dishes Gyros as a midnight snack!

Tips & Highlights:

Organizing a travel destination requires a lot of organization. Get support where needed. Pascal and Miriam trusted in the help of their wedding planner, Meli Wedding. They spoke regularly via Skype before arranging a personal on-site visit. The wedding planners were also key in discussions with the local council and the venue.
If you are planning to get married in a language that some of your guests may not understand, consider hiring an interpreter to ensure they feel part of your ceremony.
