The history: Welcome your guests to your wedding with a style or theme that is reminiscent of the chosen location of your celebration. There are many ways to pay homage to your wedding location – some subtle and others more obvious. The organizers of this shoot took inspiration from the historic city of Chester and wanted to incorporate elements inspired by its Roman heritage.

The site: Chester is a walled Cathedral city in Cheshire, England, on the River Dee, near the Wales Border. The Romans founded Chester previously known as a fortress in 79 AD under the name, Deva Victrix. it is one of the best preserved walled cities in Great Britain with numerous historic buildings spanning centuries. the Chester Old Palace is in the heart of historic Chester and blends old world charm with contemporary style.

The atmosphere: Luxury and elegance with a touch of Romanesque style. This wedding was a celebration of Chester’s wonderful history through thoughtful styling and locations that capture the city’s rich history.

The details: The styling was kept crisp, fresh and simple. The color palette consisted of white accented by green foliage. This included indoor potted trees and a recurring laurel leaf motif (including for the groom’s lapel pin, bridal headdress, and stationery) to give a Roman feel. To create this luxurious atmosphere, the flowers have been styled with a classic romantic combination of white roses and pink peonies. Both the wedding dress and the wedding cake showed one trendy oversized white bow for a touch of modernity.
