We caught up with Tux Fizz, an award-winning Gloucestershire wedding band who bring unique, high-energy entertainment to couples on one of the happiest days of their lives. The band tells us how they started, some of their favorite songs and what the future holds for Tux Fizz.

Tell us a bit about yourself and how Tux Fizz was formed?

Tux Fizz is an energetic and exuberant events band specializing in unique interactive entertainment. We’ve been keeping the dance floors packed for years, although our journey began way back in 2015 when close friends Chris, Rich and Zoe formed a small band performing our own original music. This was our first introduction to the exciting world of live music and putting on unforgettable performances.

Why did you decide to get into the wedding industry?

The honest answer is that it just happened by accident – after performing at a festival we were asked by an audience member to perform at their wedding – we’re always up for anything, that’s a deal, and we’re quick to get the appeal of a great performance discovers music in crowded rooms with wedding guests!

We fell in love with the wedding industry straight away – specifically the personal connection we were able to develop with each of our clients – and have never looked back since.

How has Tux Fizz developed since you started working together?

We are a very ambitious and motivated team, so we are constantly looking for new ways to keep growing and developing.

In the early years, this meant refining our look and sound and identifying the bangers that were guaranteed to fill the dance floor; Then it was down to the build and visual impact of our show to make sure the band looks as good as they sound. And now we’re taking care of nurturing and retaining the hottest talent in the industry, including adding new instruments (like saxophone) to the band line-up.

We firmly believe that improvement is a journey and not a destination. That’s why we will never stop looking for new ways to take our services to the next level.

Are there any outstanding weddings that you have attended?

We’ve been fortunate and honored to celebrate the weddings of international athletes, TV presenters, Gold Cup Jockeys and (most recently) TikTok influencers. All of these weddings had a special touch (recently the best man accompanied us on the trumpet!) – but honestly every wedding is special – and just to see the love and happiness in the room fills us with immense gratitude for this profession .

What is your favorite wedding song to sing?

We’re very conscious about the music we play – every song needs to be a banger that creates energy and excitement; But we want our sets to remain unique, with lots of hidden mashups for good measure.

Without revealing too much, we’ve worked very hard to create an act unlike any other. As for the specific songs, right now we’re really enjoying “About Damn Time” by Lizzo, “Flowers” by Miley Cyrus and rocking out to “Easy Love” by Phil Collins.

How would a couple book Tux Fizz for their wedding? Explain the process to us…

Zoe and Rich will then work with you to discuss and understand your musical tastes and any specific needs you may have for your wedding. We realize that every client has slightly different preferences, so we work hand-in-hand with you to design the perfect show for you and your guests.

What’s next for Tux Fizz?

We firmly believe that our success to date is based on our ambition, dedication and ability to innovate. We’re always looking for the next step to take our act to the next level, whether it’s launching new services – like our DJ, saxophone and drum after-party package – or working on a stunning one showcase moment.

Nobody cares more about throwing a party to remember than Tux Fizz! It took us a lot of effort to be crowned ‘Best Wedding Band in the UK’ at the Wedding Industry Awards 2023 and we intend to keep that title!
