What could be more romantic than an 18th-century house surrounded by orchards? Northcote Manor in the Taw Valley has a reputation for being something very special. The manor house once belonged to Henry VIII and the history of the property from his monastic days is told in murals covering the walls of the drawing room and dining room.

Formerly a fisherman’s house owned by Georgiana, Duchess of Bedford, Hotel end slide overlooks an enchanting landscape of grottoes and follies on the banks of the Tamar. Inside designed by the famous Olga Polizzi, Weddings can range from an intimate ceremony for two to a marquee on the lawn for 150, with all rooms on the hotel’s ground floor approved for civil ceremonies, including the parterre garden and small shell house. There is no such thing as a “wedding package” here, it’s all tailor-made for your day.
