There are many perks to a fall or winter wedding, but when it comes to hand-picking flowers for the big day, there’s often a panic about what’s still in season.

To make flowers one less worry, wedding experts Queensmith have found the best flowers for a fall or winter wedding.

Laura Suttie, Design Consultant at Queensmith, said: “There’s really something magical about a fall or winter wedding.

“Autumn and winter naturally offer vibrant colors and the darker evenings allow for a cozier atmosphere accentuated by foliage, fairy lights and candles.”

To identify the top flowers for the season, data was collected based on the number of flowers’ hashtags on Instagram and the search volume of fall bouquets over the past 12 months.

1. Roses

With over 30 million hashtags, Classic Roses ranks first as the wedding flower with the most Instagram photos. There are many reasons why this beautiful bloom dominates Instagram.

With a little TLC, roses are available year-round and also come in many different colors, from romantic pastels, bright and vibrant colors in the summer months, to the classic Valentine’s red.

2. Sunflower

Sunflowers are the second most photogenic wedding flowers with over 10.3 million hashtags.

Although these large, sunny yellow blooms are associated with the summer season, sunflowers come in 70 different varieties, some of which can withstand the winter months. Sunflowers can be the perfect autumnal addition to any wedding, with more unusual rusty colors becoming available.

In fifth place is daisies with 1.4 million hashtags – and dried bouquets are a beautiful choice for fall wedding flowers – plus they’re a lot cheaper than fresh flowers!
