Forget “L” signs, Popworld and kiss me quick signs. Hen parties have evolved into a much more sophisticated affair, with some spending thousands for the perfect weekend. The market for chic bachelorette parties has exploded in recent years as groups seek bespoke accessories, one-of-a-kind destinations and Instagrammable places to stay. We spoke to the experts to find the top trends and stylish bachelorette party ideas to inspire you.

Last Night of Freedom is the UK’s leading bachelorette party organizer – we spoke to founder and CEO Matt Mavir, who revealed some of the hottest bachelorette party trends for the 2023 wedding season.

Stylish Hen Party Ideas: Destinations
“While Newcastle, Liverpool and Benidorm are some of the biggest hen party hotspots in Europe, there is a growing market for destinations that don’t excel in merrymaking,” said Matt.
This creates new hotspots with an emphasis on class, elegance and style. “Destinations like Bath and York have grown in popularity over the past year. Bookings for York have more than doubled and chickens in particular are looking for places that would look great in their stories,” added Matt.

“Bath has become incredibly popular as it is a stunning Roman spa town and instead of spending two days in bars and clubs, chickens are increasingly looking for stylish and elegant places and don’t mind spending more money to get there .
“The same goes for Dubai. A decade ago it would have been insane to fly to Dubai for a long hen weekend, but it shows just how important location is for chickens in 2022.”
Classy Hen Party Ideas: Accommodation
Huge Airbnb apartments, sprawling country estates, and downtown penthouse party locations have all come naturally to hens. No longer content with two nights in a Premier Inn, the chickens are instead shelling out considerable sums to secure themselves the swankiest apartments.
“Chickens want to nest together, and we’re increasingly seeing groups that all want to be under one roof,” Matt said.
Bath’s Macdonald Bath Spa Hotel, a five-star retreat a million miles from tacky dance floors and sickly shots, is a foodie’s paradise spread over seven acres of landscaped space, combining a thermal wellness suite and a cozy one Salon offers where you and the girls can do take afternoon tea.
Or, if you’re looking for a city center break, Honeypot House is a collection of chic nightclubs in central Newcastle. Tucked just above the epicenter of Newcastle’s nightlife, inside are five unique rooms large enough to host a bachelorette party of almost any size, and each with its own quirky, Instagrammable theme, inspired by Alice in Wonderland’s Mad Hatter’s Tea room to a loft penthouse apartment.

“They’re all big enough to keep groups together, and groups are happy to spend more to make that happen,” Matt added.
A little further afield — for the chickens who still prefer to party than sit in a spa — there’s Encore at the Wynn Resort in Las Vegas. Enjoy Sin City in style at this five-star palace that exudes opulence and energy. Unwind in your spacious suite before heading to one of the hotel’s three nightclubs, including the legendary XS, while the sprawling 50,000-square-foot beach club is flanked by a forest of 40-foot-tall palm trees.
Classy Hen Party Ideas: Accessories
We all love a cheesy plastic prop. And even when money isn’t an issue, groups still tend to prefer to keep it low than aim high.
“No matter how much you spend on your hen party, everyone loves a straw!” Matt admitted.
“They are always among the best-selling chicken accessories. In fact, they’re so popular that there was a nationwide shortage earlier this year.”

Although they never go out of style, the big trends of the future are much more tasteful. “Rose gold is huge. Chickens can’t get enough of this,” Matt added, while Last Night of Freedom released a “Team Bride” collection themed around it.
“The team bride concept also allows groups to be brought together and this unity is becoming a big part of hen party culture. We offer matching slippers, bathrobes and sashes that are becoming increasingly eco-conscious, so we’re seeing more demand for paper – and less plastic.”
Classy Hen Party Ideas: Outfits
While personalized t-shirts are still big sellers, groupwear is the big trend of 2023. Group like the hunters (tally ho!).

However, for those looking for a more refined chicken experience, the night is all about looking as fabulous as you feel. Some hens are eschewing shirts and Where’s Wally outfits in favor of sequins and low-cut dresses – with Boohoo offering a glittery range just for hens.
Classy Hen Party Ideas: Games & Activities
For years, the icebreakers at a bachelorette party were downing shots and talking about your partner’s butt. However, there is a growing demand for games that are less dirty and have an Etsy-inspired feel.
The bestselling Pin the Ring is a toned down version of a hen party classic, but with a chic design and classic pink and rose gold color scheme. And when it comes to daytime tying, the range of upscale chicken activities has exploded.
It’s no longer just paintball and a night out for groups willing to splash the cash – the world is at their feet.

Meet London? A floral wreath workshop is a great idea, especially when followed by afternoon tea on a vintage Routemaster London bus.
Vegas? Why not spend the day cruising the desert sands on dune buggies before relaxing with bottle service at a VIP table in Surrender.
And according to Matt, for groups willing to spend a little more, there’s a real A-list option by 2023. “Why not have Mr. Motivator teach a dance class?
“And if you’re in Newcastle you can go on a pub crawl with some of the Geordie Shore castmates – and with VIP bottle service.
“Obviously these products don’t come cheap, but there’s definitely a market for these experiences – plus, hopefully you’re only having a hen party, so make it as magical and memorable as possible!”
